If you know me, you know that I absolutely adored planning my wedding. I love setting up meetings and visualizing details. I loved using my planner obsessively, taking notes at consults and putting things together to make something really wonderful. The day of... well, it might not have gone my way the day of, but I think that's because I needed a day-of wedding coordinator. I needed someone to make sure my vision came to life the way I wanted it to. I needed someone who was as obsessive and detail oriented as me. I needed someone to do what I wanted to be able to do that day. That brings me to my next point, I think that I should be a wedding planner and Brandon says that he knows that I should be a wedding planner. Apparently, he is not the only one who feels that way. Last year for Christmas, Michelle, TJ and Brandon all got me wedding planning books and told me I should start my own company. I told them I wasn't ready yet and who was going to hire me? I didn't have any experience.
How does someone get experience? Someone takes a chance on them. In steps my older sister, Michelle. She has bravely decided to take a chance on me. With six months to go until her wedding and nothing done, Michelle realized that she needed a wedding planner. She needed someone to do the leg-work so that she could just say "yes, I like that" or "nope, not quite right." I have taken on the challenge of planning someone else's wedding. Taking their thoughts and their dreams and turning them into something real and something tangible. I have an advantage in having my first planned wedding be my sisters -- I know a lot of her likes and dislikes. I am already a step ahead of the game on that part, but I plan to take this seriously. In fact, I have my first sit down meeting with the happy couple planned for Sunday night when we get back from our couples retreat with Kyle & Jessica and Andrew & Alicia. What a wonderful little weekend I have planned.
PS - two months ago I walked down the aisle... how crazy is that?!

thank you, sarah ruth
In her typical, but unknowing, fashion – Sarah Ruth has inspired me. This time she has inspired me to be better at blogging. Did she saying anything to me about it? No. Have I had a good heart to heart with her lately? No, honestly, I haven’t seen Sarah in quite some time, but reading her blog makes me want to be a better blogger.
I promise over the next two months to make a real attempt at blogging more frequently. I mean, I have so much going on in my life right now that I have plenty of things to share. A few weeks ago we had Michelle & TJ’s engagement party, last weekend we spent time with Jessica and Brian who have been truly inspiring lately, this weekend we have the Redskins game, Brandon and I are coming up on two full months of wedded bliss on the 10th, next weekend we are going on a mini vacation with Kyle, Andrew and their significant others, and the weekend after that we are having a Lycoming reunion. We are so blessed with so much lately and I want to share that.
Thank you Sarah, for being such a good friend and so inspiring without even trying to do so. Let’s hang out soon.
